Roofing, Siding & Windows in Guilford, CT
Guilford has one of the biggest collections of historic homes in New England, from the 18th-century houses around the Green to the shoreline homes out at Sachem's Head and Leete's Island. Those houses need a contractor who respects the details and still delivers a roof that lasts. That's what we do.
Your Trusted Contractor in Guilford
Cooper Modifications works the whole town: the town center, North Guilford up toward Meeting House Hill, and the coast.
Historic homes near the Green
Guilford's Historic Town Center holds 257 historic buildings, and Route 146 is a state scenic road. Exterior work in these areas usually needs a Certificate of Appropriateness before the town issues a permit, and material choices matter. We know which roofing profiles, siding, and windows keep the character while performing. For very old homes we'll flag when a roof deck or framing needs attention, not just the shingles.
Shoreline homes at Sachem's Head and Leete's Island
Out on the water, salt air and wind are the enemies. We use corrosion-resistant flashing and fasteners, size gutters for coastal rain, and install high-wind roofing. If a project needs coastal site plan review, we'll point you to the town's planning office; a like-for-like re-roof usually does not.
